PWT’s Recent Major Awards and Recognitions

Pacific Western Technologies, Ltd. (PWT) was named 2009 Region 8 Prime Contractor of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). PWT was nominated for the award by the U.S. Department of Energy, Western Area Power Administration (Western), for its support of Western's Corporate Services Office in Lakewood, Colo., and regional offices throughout the 15 states served by Western. PWT has supported Western since 2004, and has met or exceeded established contract performance objectives in every area for the entire duration of the contract.

Darryl Hairston, SBA Acting Administrator, stated in his congratulatory letter, "Your hard work, innovative ideas, and dedication to your community have made you a success in your business. SBA is pleased to recognize you for these achievements. You can be proud of the role you are playing in our Nation's economic recovery."

PWT was recognized for its support to GSA Region 8 for the winning entry of the nationwide Tenth Annual GSA Achievement Award for Real Property Innovation, 2006, in the Sustainability field: "Denver Federal Center Environmental Management System - Framework for a Sustainable Campus." The award was presented to GSA Public Buildings Service, Rocky Mountain Region at an October, 2006, ceremony, in Washington, D.C.

PWT also was recognized for its efforts in the Denver Federal Center (DFC), receiving Honorable Mention in the national GSA Environmental Awards, May 2007. This GSA award recognizes the most effective and innovative programs to implement environmental management systems (EMS) at federal facilities in accordance with Executive Order 13148. Implementation of facility level EMS include measurable environmental goals, objectives, and targets. This category also recognizes the use of quantitative or qualitative consideration of the full range (cradle to grave) of environmental costs and impacts of certain activities or procurement.
