PWT awarded more work assignments for EPA RAC2

PWT was awarded a 10-year, $233 million Region 8 RAC2 environmental remediation services contract by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in January 2006. Since that time, PWT has been awarded 11 Work Orders including four in February 2009. These include California Gulch Operable Unit 5 Remedial Action Support in Leadville, Colorado; East Helena Remedial Investigation Support in East Helena, Montana; Gilt Edge Mine Remedial Action in South Dakota; and Standard Mine Remedial Investigation Support in Crested Butte, Colorado, for a combined value of more than $9 million.

During the life of the contract, PWT and its subcontractors, Tetra Tech EMI, Inc., and E2 Consulting Engineers, Inc., will provide technical and management services for environmental cleanup and oversight at Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA, also known as Superfund) sites throughout EPA Region 8, which includes Colorado, Montana, Utah, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming.  Contract work also supports states and communities in preparing for responses to releases of hazardous substances, as well as counter-terrorism.

Specific services under the new contract include site management; remedial investigation and feasibility studies; engineering design services; construction and subcontract management; engineering evaluation and cost analysis; enforcement, oversight, and negotiations support; community involvement; sampling and analysis support; risk assessment; five-year reviews; long-term response actions; and activities under the Brownfields Initiative.
